Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Finance to begin August 18, 2018.

Essential Duties

The successful candidate will teach and maintain regular office hours.

The successful candidate may be asked to support other areas of the current curriculum and develop a specialty course in their area of expertise.

Additional responsibilities include service to the department and the university and scholarly activities normally associated with the department.

This position may require development and teaching of online/distance education courses and instruction at the Clearfield Branch campus.

Specific Duties

Responsibilities will include teaching introductory and such upper-division courses in Finance as corporate finance, capital markets, international financial management, investments, etc. Ability to teach courses in areas of economics is desirable, but not required.

Minimum Qualifications (Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

PhD in Finance or related field by date of hire required. Relevant teaching experience in the field is desirable.

In addition to the other responsibilities and qualifications listed, the successful candidate must be able to communicate and/or perform well in an interview or teaching demonstration and successfully complete the interview process.

Background Clearances

In accordance with Act 153 of 2014 (HB 435), appointment is contingent upon completion of a satisfactory background investigation which includes, but is not limited to, Act 34, Pennsylvania Criminal Record Clearance; Act 151, Child Abuse Clearance; and Act 114, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Checks.

Appointment is provisional for a single 90 day period provided the “Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification Form” and verification of your application for the three background checks are returned to Deana Hill, Associate VP for Human Resources.

Annual Security Report (Clery Act)

The Lock Haven University’s Annual Security Report and Fire Safety Report are now available on-line or in paper form by request. Federal law requires these reports to contain policy statements, crime and fire safety statistics for the university. The policy statements address the university’s policies, procedures, and programs concerning safety and security, i.e. policies for responding to emergency situations, fire safety procedures and statistics, and sexual offenses, etc. Three years’ worth of statistics is included for certain types of crimes that were reported to have occurred on campus, in on-campus buildings, or off-campus sites property owned or controlled by the university and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to the campus.
